Probably 30 years ago one of my very closest friends showed me how to make my own salad dressing and I haven’t bought another bottled dressing since!
Making your own dressing can be fun for kids and big kids can make it themselves—hello dinner help!
Here’s a super simple recipe: In an empty jar, mix 3 Tbsp olive oil with 2 Tbsp vinegar + 1 tbsp dijon mustard and season with salt and pepper. Put the lid on tight and shake. You can substitute the juice of ½ a lemon and add minced shallots or garlic for a different flavor entirely. Experiment with fresh or dried herbs too.
Let me know what you come up with!
