I wish I had a Silver Bullet!
Sometimes parents call me looking for the “Silver Bullet” that will make their selective eater be not-so-picky.
I wish I had a Silver Bullet!
The reality is that no one strategy is going to get your kiddo to eat the dinner you place in front of her. Instead, small changes used consistently, bring the best results. As I often say to parents: Your Secret Sauce is Consistency.
One strategy that consistently reduces stress for parents is enforcing boundaries around when food is available and when the kitchen is closed. If you’ve ever worked with me, you’ve heard about the Division of Responsibility (DoR) which assigns jobs to parents and outlines jobs for kids.
If you want to reduce stress around feeding your kiddo, reach out and schedule a Parent Coaching Call—I’m here to help.
Snack idea: Ants on a log (celery stuffed with peanut butter, cream cheese, hummus or pub cheese and topped with raisins, craisins or other dried fruit)
