Your kids are watching you!

Did you know that you have a big influence on your child’s food choices?  So often parents are worried that their kiddos aren’t eating veggies, but when we drill down, we find that parents aren’t eating veggies regularly either!!  Be a good role model by letting your kids see you eating veggies that you enjoy.

You can model curiosity about a new veggie by describing what you see—”this veggie is yellow and smooth”, what you smell—”it smells like grass” and take a tiny taste—”I’ll just take a nibble and see what my tongue tastes”.

Consider learning about a new veggie together, just for fun!

Snack Idea:

  • Graham crackers
  • Nut butter (peanut butter, nutella, almond butter, sunbutter)
  • Or cream cheese (try flavored options!)
  • Sliced strawberries, slice bananas, blueberries

Spread nut butter or cream cheese on Graham crackers, top with fruit and enjoy!
