Sharing One of My Favorite Books

I love to read And I loved to share books with my kids when they were little. Nothing beats snuggling up with your little one and a favorite story. Some of our favorites were Bunny Cakes by Rosemary Wells, Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss, Bread and Jam for Frances by Russell Hoban and Jamberry by Bruce Degnan.

There are a ton of food-related books out there. Check out this list of cookbooks for kids that I included in a previous blog.

Today I’m sharing one of my favorite books for older kids, How Food Works: The Facts Visually Explained (DK Publishing). How Food Works is great for kids who like to know the “why” and are interested in the details. Science-minded kids will love the easy-to-follow diagrams, the simple and straightforward language about different diets (ex. vegan), why you become hungry or full and how much salt you really should be eating. (As always, *please be mindful of the pages that are dedicated to “diets/calories”.*)

Do you know of any other science-based books for kids that deal with food? Please share with me–I’m always looking to build my library!

Snack Idea:
