Karen Mountjoy, a Registered and Licensed New Hampshire dietitian, earned her degree in dietetics from the University of New Hampshire. After completing her Dietetic Internship through UNH, Karen founded Coastal Family Nutrition, a practice dedicated to providing healthy nutritional programs to children and families throughout the Seacoast region. Prior to entering the Nutrition field, Karen was a Special Education Teacher in the Seacoast area.
Karen recognizes that diet and nutrition play a key role in adolescent growth, development, and overall wellness. She works with children of all ages facing common or more complicated food, feeding, and swallowing challenges. As a lifelong education and child advocate, Karen blends her extensive experience as an educator and pediatric dietitian to deliver compassionate, personalized support plans that help her young clients achieve and sustain dietary balance.
Karen's nutritional philosophy is that healthy intake choices should be based on personal preferences and, most importantly, food should be enjoyed. Karen uses this approach to connect with both clients and their families as they work together to identify readiness for change and to develop individualized, flexible plans that meet specific physiological, emotional, and economic needs.
