What to Expect

At Coastal Family Nutrition, Karen understands that many people aren't sure what to expect when meeting with a dietitian for the first time. It is her mission to eliminate stress and worry of the unknown during your initial consultation.

While follow-up appointments will generally last 45 minutes, your first session will run somewhere between 60-90 minutes. During this time, Karen will meet with your family to:

  • Create a baseline nutrition assessment
  • Set expectations
  • Answer questions
  • Address concerns
  • Discuss readiness and previous diagnosis

What to Bring

In order to maximize results with every session, Coastal Family Nutrition respectfully requests clients turn cellphones and other electronic devices off during their appointments.

There are a few key pieces of information you should prepare before your initial consultation at Coastal Family Nutrition. During your scheduled first meeting, please bring:

  • 2 to 3-day food log
  • Required forms
  • Medical records and/or growth chart (if not sent earlier)
  • Insurance card
  • Any required copay or coinsurance (check, cash, Visa/Master card)

After your initial consultation, Coastal Family Nutrition will keep your forms and insurance information on file for reference at future appointments.
